Marc Cucurella honors vow with tattoo of Spanish manager Luis de la Fuente

Spain defender Marc Cucurella has fulfilled his pledge to get a tattoo of head coach Luis de la Fuente after the team’s World Cup success.

Following Spain’s recent World Cup victory against Argentina, defender Marc Cucurella has followed through on a wager by getting a tattoo of head coach Luis de la Fuente. The ink, showcased on social media, features a portrait of the manager clutching the trophy alongside the number 26.

Cucurella, who transferred to Real Madrid from Chelsea this past June for 52 million pounds, played in every match of the tournament as Spain maintained a strong defensive record. De la Fuente addressed the tribute lightheartedly, noting that while he questioned the players’ decision, he finds the gesture humorous and appreciates their integrity in honoring such commitments.

Known for his distinctive appearance and quirks, such as sporting long hair to remain recognizable to his child on the pitch, Cucurella reportedly carried his wife’s pyjama top throughout the tournament as a talisman.
