Dr. Kassim Muhammad Kassim, the Executive Chairman of the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB), visited the relatives of Shautaha Orduwe. The 10-year-old student died when a classroom at LGEA Primary School in Gada Biyu, Obi Local Government Area, fell down.
The boy was buried in his home village over the weekend following local customs. Dr. Kassim traveled to the site on Monday with a group of board members and directors to offer his condolences. He encouraged the grieving family to remain strong and accept the loss as an unavoidable event.
To assist the neighborhood, Dr. Kassim pledged to build a new classroom to replace the destroyed one. Additionally, he granted two job openings to local residents as part of the current rural teacher hiring program. The delegation also examined the ruins of the building to determine what repairs or improvements are needed.
Francis Orduwe, the uncle of the young victim, thanked the NSUBEB chairman and his team for their empathy and aid during this difficult period.
