An official from RB Leipzig confirmed to AFP on Tuesday that the club is currently in discussions with Real Madrid regarding the transfer of Ivorian winger Yan Diomande. While talks between the two organizations are active, the source stated that no formal deal has been finalized yet.
The 19-year-old athlete, who is tied to Leipzig through 2030, has gained significant attention across Europe following an impressive performance for Ivory Coast during the World Cup. Previously, Paris Saint-Germain expressed interest in the player but eventually withdrew due to concerns regarding the valuation. Liverpool also saw a transfer offer turned down in June.
Although Oliver Mintzlaff, Leipzig’s supervisory chairman, indicated in April that the winger was not available for purchase at any price, recent reports suggest a deal could now exceed 120 million euros. Diomande, originally from Abidjan, previously played briefly for Leganes in Spain. Since joining Leipzig for the 2025-26 campaign, he has recorded 12 goals and provided eight assists in the Bundesliga.
