Authorities in Kano have taken a 25-year-old woman into custody for allegedly severing the manhood of her boyfriend. The incident, which occurred at a local hotel, was confirmed by police spokesperson CSP Abdullahi Haruna-Kiyawa. The suspect, who hails from Jigawa State, reportedly used a knife to carry out the assault after finding out her partner planned to wed another person. Police officers responding to the scene successfully arrested the woman and recovered the weapon, while the victim was transported to Abubakar Imam Urology Hospital for urgent care.
In a separate incident, the Kano State Police Command has detained three individuals, including a married couple, regarding the death of 30-year-old Abubakar Auwal. Reports indicate that Auwal was lured by two men and brutally attacked over accusations that he was involved with the wife of one of the suspects. Despite being rushed to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, the victim succumbed to his injuries. The suspects remain in custody awaiting formal charges.
Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu-Bakori condemned both acts of violence. He urged the public to avoid vigilantism, emphasizing that the police are responsible for handling criminal investigations. The commissioner promised a transparent legal process for all parties involved.
