Team Wales leader Olivia Breen secured her nation’s inaugural athletics medal at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games, finishing with a silver in the T38 100m final. Clocking a season-best time of 12.86 seconds, the reigning champion narrowly trailed England’s Sophie Hahn, who claimed gold.
The race concluded with a tense photo-finish as Breen surpassed England’s Maddie Down to secure second place. This achievement marks the fourth Commonwealth medal of Breen’s career and represents a personal victory following a year plagued by injury and concussion. Celebrating her 30th birthday just before the event, she expressed relief and satisfaction with her performance.
