Five individuals suspected of being part of a criminal gang were apprehended by the Delta State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwale. The agency highlighted this operation as a significant win in its ongoing efforts to protect vital national infrastructure from destruction.
Acting on reliable intelligence, NSCDC officers teamed up with the Utagba Ogbe Vigilante Group to execute a raid in the local area. The group was detained for allegedly stealing power cables and damaging essential electricity equipment. Authorities have seized these materials as evidence while they work to track down other accomplices, such as those responsible for purchasing the stolen goods.
Official reports categorize these actions as economic sabotage that compromises public utility networks and harms national power reliability. The five detainees are Mbube Godwin Anioh (20), Ekeanys Onyemechinyi (19), Muhammadu Atamnu (37), Chibuke Anah Ehiya (20), and Nworomu Ekpede (17). The NSCDC confirmed that all suspects will face legal proceedings once the investigation wraps up.
