Wrexham are nearing a deal to acquire Crystal Palace defender Danny Imray. The flexible full-back, capable of playing as a right wing-back, is set to become the first addition for the Red Dragons this summer. Manager Phil Parkinson is prioritizing wing-back depth following the departure of Issa Kabore, who returned to Manchester City after his loan at Stok Cae Ras concluded.
Although the 23-year-old has yet to play a senior match for Palace, he has accumulated significant professional experience during various loan assignments. After signing with the Eagles from Chelmsford City in 2021, Imray spent time back at his former club before joining Bromley, where he made 43 appearances. Most recently, he split the 2025-26 season between Blackpool and West Bromwich Albion. He played 17 games for the Baggies, including an April appearance against Wrexham.
Imray recently participated in a friendly match for Palace against Bromley but is expected to miss the team’s upcoming pre-season trip to Italy. While Parkinson does not intend to overhaul his squad before the 2026-27 campaign, the club remains interested in adding a goalkeeper, a centre-back, a central midfielder, and a forward alongside Imray.
