Favour Ashe and Nicholas Fakorede have successfully advanced to the men’s 100m semi-finals at the 2026 Commonwealth Games. According to reports from the DAILY POST, Ashe secured his spot by winning his heat in 10.10 seconds, outpacing Kenya’s Meshack Babu and Guyana’s Akeem Stewart.
Nicholas Fakorede also moved forward after placing second in his heat with a time of 10.21 seconds. That race was won by Mojela Koneshe of Lesotho, who established a new national record with a time of 10.07 seconds. Singaporean athlete Marc Brian Louis took third place in that heat, clocking a season-best 10.38 seconds.
Kanyinsola Ajayi, another Nigerian sprinter, also earned a place in the semi-finals via a bye. These three athletes are scheduled to compete on Tuesday for a chance to reach the final round. Ashe is slated for the first semi-final heat, while Ajayi will participate in the second, and Fakorede will run in the third heat.
