The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has issued a warning to Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, suggesting he begin removing his personal items from the Government House. This call comes from the group’s executive director, Professor Isiaq Akintola, who claims that local citizens have lost confidence in the current administration.
Akintola criticized the governor for several issues, specifically noting that a newly finished flyover in Osogbo showed signs of structural damage only three weeks after it opened. The organization further accused the governor of favoring his hometown of Ede in government appointments and criticized his management of local council operations. MURIC also referenced controversies surrounding alleged examination malpractice.
Looking ahead to the gubernatorial election scheduled for August 15, 2026, the group stated that the governor has effectively alienated the public. They asserted that he would face a significant defeat at the polls as a consequence of his actions, which the organization described as insulting to the intelligence of the Muslim community in the state.
