Law enforcement officials from the Ifo Division in the Ogun State Police Command have apprehended five men accused of conspiracy, theft, and handling stolen goods. The main suspect is a 47-year-old truck driver named Temitope Odulaja, who was arrested alongside four associates: Segun Suleiman, Haruna Olaogun, Jimoh Wasiu, and Quazzim Suleiman.
Police spokesperson DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi confirmed that the operation resulted in the recovery of several vehicle parts. Investigators uncovered a criminal ring specializing in the illegal dismantling of stolen trailers. The case originated after the trailer’s owner reported that his driver disappeared with the vehicle on June 6, 2026.
Led by DPO CSP Olabisi Kamorudeen, detectives utilized technical surveillance to locate Odulaja in Ikorodu, Lagos, on July 24, 2026. Following his arrest, the driver provided information that led police to Ijebu-Ode. On the following Saturday, officers apprehended the remaining four suspects. Investigators found that the stolen trailer had been dismantled shortly after it was taken. While some components have been recovered, police are continuing their search for the rest of the vehicle parts.
Police Commissioner Bode Ojajuni praised the investigative team for their successful disruption of this organized crime syndicate. Authorities have promised that all involved parties will face legal charges once the probe concludes. Meanwhile, the public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities related to vehicle theft to the police immediately.
