Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso has confirmed he has a strategy to feature record-breaking £117m signing Morgan Rogers alongside Cole Palmer. Currently, the 24-year-old is on break following his World Cup participation, while the rest of the Chelsea squad conducts their pre-season tour in Sydney. Alonso believes Rogers possesses the quality necessary to make an immediate impact without requiring an extended adjustment period to the system or his new peers. The midfielder has signed a six-year deal with an additional one-year option.
Regarding the chemistry between Rogers and Palmer, who are close friends, Alonso noted that he envisions them forming a strong partnership on the pitch.
