To secure victory in Monday’s final at 20:07 BST, the world record holder will need to outperform South Africa’s Michael Houlie, who currently leads the field with a time of 26.61. Other competitors joining them include Australia’s gold medallist Sam Williamson and Jersey’s Filip Nowacki.
Ramsay-Peaty acknowledged the personal growth forced by his recent race, noting that competing at a championship level again after a two-year hiatus has been an adjustment.
