According to a statement released by National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi, the party argues that those captured in regions like Kaiama, Borno, and Zamfara warrant the same government attention as those recently freed in Oyo State.
The opposition party specifically highlighted the 176 Woro community residents in Kwara State who have been held captive since February 3, 2026. The ADC suggests that the President’s vocal celebration of the Oyo rescue effort underscores a concerning disparity regarding the status of citizens still held by captors in other states. The party pointed to the abduction of 40 Zamfara residents, ongoing violence in Borno, attacks in Benue, and the kidnapping of Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza as proof that national insecurity remains critical.
Family members of the missing Kaiama villagers recently held a peaceful protest, described by the ADC as an expression of genuine fear rather than political posturing. The party asserts that President Tinubu must shift from issuing broad promises of safety to providing transparent, measurable progress reports on rescue operations. Ultimately, the ADC claims that leadership should be judged by a commitment to ensuring that no Nigerian is neglected or abandoned, rather than by the frequency of government statements.
