Vinicius Jr Opts to Remain at Real Madrid Instead of Arsenal Move

Vinicius Junior plans to stay at Real Madrid and negotiate a contract extension, effectively ending rumors linking him to a potential transfer to Arsenal.

Real Madrid attacker Vinicius Junior intends to reject potential interest from Arsenal to remain with the Spanish side. Although the North London club has kept tabs on the Brazilian international, they have not submitted an official bid. The 26-year-old enters the final year of his current agreement, but reports indicate he prefers to sign an extension rather than depart the Santiago Bernabéu. Discussions regarding a new contract are slated to restart next week, with both sides optimistic about bridging a minor gap in salary expectations.

This stance persists even with Real Madrid pursuing RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande in a transaction valued over £100 million. If that transfer occurs, both players would vie for the left-wing position. A move to Arsenal would have been complicated for the Gunners due to the player’s reported £400,000 weekly salary, which would have impacted their ability to offer new terms to existing stars like Declan Rice and manager Mikel Arteta. Additionally, new head coach José Mourinho has explicitly stated his desire to keep all senior squad members at the club throughout this transfer period.
