Gatwick Airport is currently experiencing significant water supply problems impacting both its terminals. The disruption has forced the closure of various restaurants and rendered restroom facilities unusable. The West Sussex airport issued a public apology via social media, confirming that an issue originating in the Horley region is currently being examined.
To assist those onsite, the airport has distributed bottled water and implemented emergency protocols. SES Water, the utility provider serving the airport alongside regions in Kent, Surrey, and south London, is coordinating efforts to reinstate service. A company representative explained that a power failure at the Bough Beech Water Treatment Works triggered the drop in pressure and supply loss. SES Water teams are actively addressing these technical challenges to resume normal operations promptly.
