The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has promised University of Uyo (UNIUYO) students that their grievances regarding missing NELFUND upkeep payments are being prioritized. NANS National President, Akinteye Babatunde Afeez, announced in a Sunday press release that the organization has officially brought these grievances to the attention of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) management. This intervention follows reports from students who stated they have yet to receive their monthly upkeep stipends since the beginning of the year.
Akinteye noted that the fund’s administrators have pledged to rectify the payment backlog promptly. He advised the student community to exercise patience while the financial processing continues. NANS leaders remain dedicated to working with all involved parties to ensure every eligible student obtains their financial support. Emphasizing the organization’s mission, the president reiterated that student welfare is the top priority and promised that they will continue to defend the rights and financial interests of all Nigerian students.
