A man remains in critical condition after being rescued from the sea near Clacton Pier in Essex. Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene shortly after 16:30 BST this past Saturday to assist three individuals struggling in the water.
Essex Police confirmed that a man in his 50s is currently in critical but stable condition. Two other survivors, a man in his 20s and a teenage girl, are also hospitalized but are expected to recover. This event follows a separate tragedy in West Mersea last Wednesday where Shally Rahman and her daughter Samiha lost their lives after attempting to rescue a young relative.
Clacton district commander Chief Inspector Stuart Austin expressed his sympathy for those impacted by the recent string of water-related emergencies in north Essex. He praised the swift and professional coordination of rescue teams on the beach and requested that members of the public avoid discussing the matter on social media.
