Military forces eliminate female ISWAP spy and detain 14 other suspects nationwide

Military forces neutralized a suspected female ISWAP spy in Borno and apprehended 14 individuals across Nigeria, including IPOB members and a deserter soldier.

Nigerian security forces successfully neutralized a female operative linked to ISWAP/JAS after she was spotted by CCTV cameras nearing a military base near the Sambisa forest. Troops from the 222 Battalion at the Kawuri base in Borno State stopped the suspect before she breached their defensive line.

In a separate operation, Operation MESA forces detained a former soldier from the 13 Brigade at a checkpoint in the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory. Authorities seized his military gear and vehicle. Additionally, troops caught a driver transporting stolen armoured cables.

Security efforts in the South-East resulted in the arrest of five individuals allegedly affiliated with IPOB/ESN near Orsu in Imo State. Meanwhile, combined teams from the 82 Division Garrison and the 103 Battalion captured eight suspected cultists in Eha-Amufu, Enugu State. These individuals, suspected of involvement in regional terrorism, were transferred to the Nigeria Police Force for legal processing.

Operations Desert Sanity V, FANSAN YAMMA, and Savannah Shield reported no significant security issues during this window. Furthermore, a delegation from the International Committee of the Red Cross met with officials at the Kinnasara Cantonment in Monguno to discuss humanitarian aid initiatives for communities affected by conflict in the Lake Chad Basin.
