The Oyo State Police Command successfully located a tricycle taken during a recent armed robbery in Ilorin, Kwara State, leading to the arrest of one individual. Acting on intelligence reports, the Command Monitoring Unit established a strategic checkpoint in the Irepo region. Officers intercepted the vehicle, registered as Lagos EPE 236 QR, and took the driver, 31-year-old Akindele Seun, into custody.
During questioning, Seun admitted to stealing the tricycle at gunpoint in Kwara before traveling to Oyo State. The recovered vehicle is currently secured as police search for the victim and investigate potential accomplices. Commissioner of Police Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga confirmed the command’s dedication to preventing the state from serving as a refuge for criminals. He stated that law enforcement will consistently track and prosecute those who bring illicit property into the state, regardless of where the crime originated. Authorities are calling on citizens to continue reporting suspicious activities to help maintain local security.
