On Saturday, Manchester City defender Abdukodir Khusanov officially extended his tenure with the Premier League side by signing a five-year contract. The 22-year-old center-back, who arrived from French club Lens in January 2025, played a key role in City’s recent FA Cup and League Cup campaigns and their runner-up finish in the league.
Internationally, Khusanov has represented Uzbekistan 30 times, including appearances in every Group K match during the World Cup. Expressing his excitement, the defender noted his personal and professional growth at the club, stating his primary focus is now earning a regular spot under the guidance of new manager Enzo Maresca.
Khusanov follows teammate Phil Foden in securing a long-term future at the club this week.
