Jose Mourinho blocks Arsenal attempt to sign Vinicius Junior

Jose Mourinho has ruled out a potential transfer for Vinicius Junior to Arsenal, prioritizing the retention of the star forward at Real Madrid despite contract uncertainty.

Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho has instructed the club to turn down any advances from Arsenal regarding Brazilian forward Vinicius Junior, according to The Telegraph. The Premier League titleholders are looking to strengthen their left-wing position and have identified the Madrid player as a primary target.

While formal talks have not begun, sources suggest there is internal support at Arsenal for a move. The 26-year-old recorded 22 goals and 14 assists during his previous campaign, but his contract expires in one year. This creates the possibility of a free transfer next summer, drawing attention from various clubs.

Financial requirements may complicate a potential deal, as the forward currently receives a reported weekly wage of £400,000. Additionally, Mourinho is opposed to losing a vital member of his squad before the season begins. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez also confirmed in June that the organization intends to keep the player at the club for the long term.
