Members of Nigeria’s Super Falcons have reported a string of thefts at their accommodation in Casablanca. Several players stated that their cash was removed from their personal wallets while they were out of their rooms at the Marriott Hotel.
This incident occurred during the team’s stay in Morocco as they train for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. Specific players affected include Esther Okoronkwo, who lost $700, Rasheedat Ajibade missing $200, Joy Omewa short by $120, and both Osinachi Ohale and Halimatu Ayinde each reporting $100 stolen. In total, the players are missing $1,220, which converts to roughly N1.7 million.
The Nigeria Football Federation has remained silent regarding the matter, and it is unclear if any formal inquiry has been launched. Head coach Justine Madugu continues to lead training sessions in Casablanca as the team prepares to travel to Rabat. The defending champions are set to face Malawi in their opening match, with Zambia and Egypt rounding out their Group C opponents.
