A Nigerian national, Chika Ibe, has allegedly died after being tortured by South African police during an operation in Cape Town.

A Nigerian citizen, Chika Ibe, has reportedly died following an alleged act of torture by the South African Police Service. The Nigerian Citizens Association South Africa (NICASA) verified this report to Daily Trust on Friday. According to the association, the incident took place on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the Parksig Villas Complex in Belleville, Cape Town.

Ibe, a native of Lokpaukwu in Abia State, allegedly succumbed to his injuries after being beaten and subjected to suffocation during a police operation. Rev.
