Ahmed Yusuf Doro, the representative for the Bindawa/Mani Federal Constituency in Katsina State, has officially switched his political affiliation from the All Progressives Congress to the Peoples Democratic Party. Speaker Tajudeen Abbas formally communicated this change to the House of Representatives during Thursday’s legislative session.
In a formal correspondence submitted on July 18, 2026, Doro explained that he reached this decision after consulting with his constituents. He stated that the change is intended to improve his ability to provide effective representation and enhance service delivery for the people of his district. While transitioning to a new party, Doro emphasized his ongoing dedication to his duties within the 10th House of Representatives.
The lawmaker thanked the leadership and members of the APC for their past support. He promised to continue striving for sustainable development in his constituency under the banner of the PDP, with his departure from his former party effective as of July 18, 2026.
