Sunday Adeyemo, widely recognized as Sunday Igboho, has announced that his newly formed Iru Ekun Security Network will focus on removing bandits and criminals from forested areas in Kwara State. Speaking at the official unveiling in Igbomina House, Ilorin, Igboho stated that the group aims to stop outlaws from utilizing local woodlands for criminal operations.
The activist clarified that his network is intended to assist government security agencies rather than replace them. He emphasized that the group seeks to collaborate with the military and police to combat kidnapping and banditry. During the event, Igboho addressed rumors about his relationship with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, asserting that he respects the governor and trusts that he supports efforts to improve regional security.
Igboho praised Kwara State Police Commissioner Adekimi Ojo for his past cooperation. He also announced plans for his operatives to begin patrols in Babanla and Eruku. Highlighting the goal of his mission, he noted that the security outfit does not target any specific ethnic group but is strictly dedicated to apprehending those involved in illegal activities. He encouraged local residents to share intelligence with authorities and advised against vigilantism, urging the public to allow trained security services to handle law enforcement.
