Tuggar Campaign Rejects Claims of Support for Bauchi APC Gubernatorial Candidate

The Tuggar Campaign Organisation has formally denied that its supporters have endorsed Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar as the APC governorship candidate for Bauchi State.

The Tuggar Campaign Organisation has officially refuted claims that backers of Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar have endorsed Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar (SAN), the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate for Bauchi State. Alkasim Abdulkadir, the special media assistant to Tuggar, released a statement on Wednesday characterizing these reports as inaccurate and contrary to the team’s official stance.

This rebuttal comes after a group identifying as Tuggar supporters, led by coordinator Musa Abdullahi, held a press conference at the Bauchi NUJ Press Centre on Tuesday to pledge their support for Abubakar for the 2027 election. The Tuggar Campaign Organisation emphasized that these individuals acted without authorization and explicitly admitted they lacked the mandate to represent the Ambassador.

The campaign maintains that the group’s actions are strictly personal. Furthermore, the organization continues to argue that no legitimate APC gubernatorial primary occurred in Bauchi. They claim the process failed to include necessary consultations or voluntary consensus among stakeholders, violating the principles of internal party democracy. Ambassador Tuggar remains dedicated to the party, the rule of law, and his statewide support base, which the campaign insists is not represented by the actions of a few individuals.
