Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, national leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed deep gratitude to his constituents in Bayelsa West, the Ijaw Nation, and Nigerians globally for their loyalty as he works to protect the nation’s multi-party democracy. In a statement issued Thursday, Dickson noted that he has been away from home for eight months, focusing on building the NDC in Abuja alongside partners like Peter Obi and Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso. He credited these efforts with establishing the party as the country’s primary opposition force.
Dickson acknowledged the ongoing challenges posed by what he called anti-democratic forces and legal obstacles, but he maintained that the judiciary would uphold the rule of law. Despite his prolonged absence, he expressed pride in seeing citizens actively joining the NDC. He also addressed political adversaries who he claimed have misused government power to target him and his supporters, asserting that such persecution has only strengthened their resolve.

He announced plans to return home soon with National Chairman Senator Moses Cleopas to engage directly with his supporters. Dickson warned against the use of intimidation in politics, calling on citizens to peacefully resist oppression, protect their votes, and hold leadership accountable.
