Yee, who secured top honors in Paris, has recently diversified his athletic pursuits by participating in various marathon events and the 5,000m at the Monaco Diamond League. He returned to his triathlon roots in Yokohama with a fifth-place finish, though he faced a setback with a non-finish in Sardinia.
Beth Potter remains a dominant force in the women’s rankings despite skipping the Quiberon event for altitude training. The Olympic bronze medalist has enjoyed a strong season, including a victory in Uzbekistan and runner-up finishes in Japan and Sardinia.
The London event, held at the ExCeL venue, is a key stop in the elite series. Following this competition, three additional races remain before the season concludes in Pontevedra, Spain, this September.
Other athletes to watch include Portugal’s Vasco Vilaca, who currently leads the series standings, and German contender Lisa Tertsch. British athlete Georgia Taylor-Brown and debutant Oliver Conway are also slated to participate as the season progresses.
