Political and community representatives from the Kogi East Senatorial District have formally thanked President Bola Tinubu and Governor Usman Ododo for the notable infrastructure and socio-economic progress observed in their region. This recognition occurred as the Presidential Communications Team and Renewed Hope Ambassadors toured several government-led initiatives.
During a stop in Ankpa, local council chairman Alhaji Ademu Muhammed Yahaya highlighted a 12-kilometre road construction project paired with a 24-kilometre drainage system as a major achievement. Commissioner for Environment and Ecological Management, Engr. Joseph Oluwasegun, noted that this initiative is part of the World Bank-backed ACReSAL project. The scheme focuses on erosion control and land reclamation, which has significantly aided local farmers through micro-loans totaling over $2 million.
Commissioner Oluwasegun emphasized Governor Ododo’s commitment to providing necessary counterpart funding, which ensures the continuation of vital World Bank support. Additionally, the team inspected high-impact projects at Prince Abubakar Audu University in Anyigba, including a new College of Health Sciences and a Senate Building valued at approximately N3.7 billion combined. Finally, officials reviewed the status of the 60-kilometre Iyale-Ogane-Enugu rural road, which is expected to enhance agricultural productivity and regional commerce throughout Dekina Local Government Area.
