FCMB Launches Initiative to Boost Healthcare Sector Financing

First City Monument Bank is set to host a healthcare summit in July 2026 to connect industry leaders and investors, focusing on sustainable financial solutions for Nigeria’s medical sector.

First City Monument Bank (FCMB) plans to gather key stakeholders, including healthcare operators, investors, and policymakers, at its inaugural Healthcare Summit on July 28, 2026. The event, titled “Financing Growth: Unlocking Opportunity, Building the Future of Healthcare,” aims to establish pathways for sustainable development within the Nigerian medical sector.

Dr. Iziaq Salako, the Minister of State for Health, will provide the keynote address regarding the future of healthcare funding. Bank MD and CEO Yemisi Edun emphasized that the institution remains dedicated to offering financial tools that assist providers in upgrading infrastructure, purchasing advanced technology, and managing working capital more efficiently. Edun noted that a resilient national healthcare system relies heavily on both clinical expertise and strategic financial backing.

The summit will address persistent industry hurdles such as rising operational costs, infrastructure shortages, and workforce limitations. Through a series of panel discussions and executive talks, the bank intends to foster collaboration between the public and private sectors to improve service delivery. Njide Ndili, President of the Healthcare Federation of Nigeria, will also speak on leadership and sustainable finance.

The Health Business Academy for Africa (HBA) serves as the technical partner for the event, offering strategic guidance. Ultimately, the conference serves as a platform to transition from identifying sector challenges to implementing actionable financing strategies that encourage long-term business growth.
