The Ijaw Youth Network (IYN) has expressed strong support for President Bola Tinubu and National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, citing the significant growth of educational and training opportunities within the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP). In a public statement, IYN leadership urged PAP Administrator Dr. Dennis Otuaro to maintain his current trajectory and stay unaffected by opposing voices.
Led by President Frank Ebikabo and Secretary Federal Ebiaridor, the group emphasized that under Otuaro’s guidance, thousands of Niger Delta residents have gained new pathways to education and vocational expertise. Statistics provided by the IYN indicate that since March 2024, over 9,000 individuals have secured domestic scholarships, with an additional 273 participants studying abroad. The academic performance of these students has been noteworthy, yielding over 50 first-class and 40 second-class upper-division graduates.
The organization also pointed to technical successes, such as the training of aviation and maritime cadets, alongside mediation courses designed to foster regional peace. Beyond these programs, the group praised the administration for its commitment to the reliable and transparent distribution of monthly stipends. According to the IYN, these efforts are fundamental to regional stability, and they credited the direct support of President Tinubu and the NSA for these improvements.
