The Akwa Ibom State Police Command reported that a woman died during a fire at a residence on Ikpa Road in Uyo. The event took place early on July 21 after the victim arrived at the home with a man she had recently met at a local club.
While the man successfully exited the burning house without injury, the woman remained trapped inside and died from severe burns. Police spokesperson Timfon John confirmed that the authorities are still working to determine the identity of the deceased woman.
