Nasarawa State Police successfully stopped a kidnapping plot on the Akwanga–Jos Road this past Tuesday, July 21, 2026. After receiving reports of criminal activity near the Megona Filling Station in Andaha at roughly 9:40 p.m., officers from the Andaha Division arrived on the scene.
The suspects engaged the police in a gun battle but were eventually overwhelmed and fled into the forest, leaving behind four unharmed captives. SP Ramhan Nansel, the police spokesperson, confirmed that authorities also recovered looted goods from a local store.
Commissioner of Police Shetima Jauro Mohammed commended the force for their bravery and commitment to public safety. A massive search effort is currently underway to capture the fugitives, involving police, military, and local community security groups. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activities to help maintain order.
