Arsenal have finalized the signing of Spanish international goalkeeper Misa Rodriguez on a free transfer, marking the club’s sixth addition this summer. The 27-year-old arrives at the Women’s Super League side following her departure from Real Madrid.
Rodriguez, who will take the number 16 jersey, enters a competitive goalkeeper rotation alongside Daphne van Domselaar and Anneke Borbe. Expressing her enthusiasm, the new signing stated her pride in joining such a prominent organization and her desire to contribute to the team’s pursuit of future silverware.
During her tenure at Real Madrid, Rodriguez achieved a club record of 215 appearances and served as team captain. Internationally, she has represented Spain 34 times since 2021, including playing three matches during their successful 2023 Women’s World Cup campaign. Her arrival strengthens a squad managed by Renee Slegers, joining other new recruits such as Georgia Stanway and Ona Batlle as the team looks to build on last season’s second-place league finish.
