A Kuwaiti court has handed down a seven-year prison sentence to two Nigerian nationals for an armed heist at a currency exchange firm in Mahboula. The verdict was issued this Monday by Counsellor Nasr Salem Al-Haid.
Official records from the public prosecution indicate the men were convicted for the theft of money and various assets during the raid. The pair was apprehended by the Ahmadi Governorate branch of the Kuwait General Department of Criminal Investigation, following inquiries into the incident which took place in January of last year.
Evidence presented during the proceedings included video footage. The recording depicted one of the individuals, wearing a hooded top, exiting a white car and entering the premises. The clip allegedly shows the man brandishing a gun at the staff while executing the robbery.
