Soldiers from Sector 1 of Operation Whirl Stroke, working alongside local hunters, successfully recovered a kidnapped individual in a recent security mission near the border of Benue and Nasarawa. The Nigerian Army confirmed the news through a statement on X.
The operation took place on July 17 at approximately 7:31 a.m., led by personnel stationed at the Forward Operating Base in Torkula. The victim was located in Ornan, a town situated on the border, after security forces exerted significant pressure on the kidnappers holding the area.
After being freed, the individual was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation. Military officials stated that they remain active in the region, conducting clearance patrols to secure vulnerable settlements and prevent criminal groups from operating freely across the state boundaries.
