Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu, has provided automatic employment to seven high-achieving National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members who served during the 2025 service year. These individuals were recently honored by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with the Presidential Honours Award in Abuja.
During a reception in Calabar, Governor Otu praised the awardees, stating that their hard work and dedication represent the core values of the state. He encouraged the youth to continue prioritizing excellence and community service, noting that their efforts reflect positively on Cross River.
The Governor reaffirmed his commitment to supporting these young achievers. He noted that those who prefer to pursue entrepreneurship rather than state civil service jobs will receive assistance through vocational training, skills development, or startup grants.
The recognized corps members are Christopher Utsu, Favour Asuquo, Ndem Ndem, Freedom Udama, Miracle Bisong, Agom Johnson, and Clement Ekunke. Governor Otu expressed his belief that the future of the state is bright when young people demonstrate such high levels of integrity and service.
