Vice President Kashim Shettima touched down in Lungi, Sierra Leone, on Sunday to attend the 69th Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
Upon landing at the Sierra Leone International Airport, the Vice President was greeted by Sierra Leonean Vice President Dr. Mohamed Jalloh, along with Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Amb. Sola Enikanolaiye.
Other officials present to welcome him included the Nigerian High Commissioner to Sierra Leone, Amb. Ayo Luther-Ogbomode, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas), Ekperikpe Ekpo, and the Permanent Representative of Nigeria to ECOWAS, Amb. Olawale Awe.
The summit serves as a platform for regional leaders, diplomats, and stakeholders to address critical concerns such as regional security, economic unity, and sustainable growth. Nigeria’s active participation highlights its ongoing dedication to fostering diplomacy and collaborative ties within the West African bloc.
