A Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, remanded a 58-year-old man, Joseph Gamor, for allegedly defiling his 13-year-old daughter.

Patrick Adekomaiya, the presiding judge, declined to take a plea and ordered Gamor to be remanded at the Awarjigoh Correctional Centre, pending legal advice from the director of public prosecution (DPP).

Ayodele Adeosun, the prosecution counsel, told the court that the suspect defiled the minor at his residence on the morning of May 9.

The defendant, a 58-year-old man, lives around Golden GLO bus stop, Imeke, Badagry

Adeosun added that the suspect unlawfully penetrated the vagina of his 13-year-old daughter with his manhood.

“He unlawfully touched and removed her clothes and had sexual intercourse with her,” he said.

He added that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 261 and 263 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The judge adjourned the case until July 29 for further hearing.
