OGEPA Conducts Surprise Inspection at Ogijo Factory to Enforce Environmental Standards

OGEPA General Manager Kehinde Bello visited Metal Recycling Industries Limited to ensure the factory follows state environmental regulations and pollution control standards.

Kehinde Bello, the General Manager of the Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA), led an unannounced visit to Metal Recycling Industries Limited in Ogijo, Sagamu. The visit was designed to verify that the facility adheres to state environmental laws.

Accompanied by the agency’s enforcement team, Bello inspected the site’s manufacturing workflows, waste handling procedures, and emission control systems. The primary goal was to ensure the company follows its environmental approval guidelines.

Bello stressed that OGEPA prioritizes public health and environmental protection through consistent monitoring. He added that surprise inspections are a key component of the agency’s strategy to hold local industries accountable. He urged the facility’s leadership to maintain high standards, secure all mandatory permits, and take proactive steps to reduce the impact of their operations on the local area.
