Governor Inuwa Yahaya Inaugurates 23 Commissioners, Emphasizes Immediate Service Delivery

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has sworn in 23 new commissioners and other officials in Gombe, calling for immediate action and dedication as his administration begins its final year.

Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya officially inaugurated 23 commissioners, along with new Special Advisers and Permanent Secretaries, during a ceremony at the International Conference Centre in Gombe. As his administration enters its final year, the governor directed his appointees to begin their duties without delay.

During the event, Governor Yahaya highlighted that the selection process was based on merit and the need for broad representation across all Local Government Areas. He emphasized that the remaining tenure leaves no room for a learning curve, urging officials to implement government policies immediately.

Addressing the political climate, the governor stated that his administration would prioritize governance and its track record of accomplishments rather than participating in political disputes with opposition groups. He lauded the Gombe State House of Assembly for their efficient screening process, noting that the collaboration between the legislative and executive branches has been vital to the state’s progress over the last seven years.

Governor Yahaya also cautioned the new officials against corruption and the misuse of power, reminding them that public office is a trust meant to serve the populace. He encouraged traditional and community leaders, as well as civil society, to collaborate with these new appointees to further the state’s developmental goals. The administration has completed various projects across 240 wards, and the governor expressed confidence that these achievements will serve as the primary focus of his legacy.
