Josh Adams ruled out of Wales clash against South Africa

Wales wing Josh Adams has been sidelined for the South Africa Test in Durban due to a calf injury, with Ellis Mee taking his place in the starting lineup.

Wales will be without wing Josh Adams for their Nations Championship match against South Africa in Durban this Saturday. The Cardiff player, who ranks fifth on the national all-time try-scoring list with 25, was withdrawn from the lineup after sustaining a calf injury.

Steve Tandy had originally named Adams to start against the reigning world champions at Kings Park. Following his inability to complete Friday’s training session, Ellis Mee has been drafted into the starting XV. Adams had been a consistent presence for Wales throughout 2026, including a notable score during the tournament opener against Fiji.

Mee, who was previously expected to be omitted, takes the spot vacated by the injured Adams. This adjustment accompanies the return of wing Louis Rees-Zammit to the side. The match is scheduled to kick off at 16:40 BST and will be available via BBC platforms and S4C.
