Imo Police Command Launches Disciplinary Trial for Officers Caught on Tape Accepting Bribes from Bus Drivers
The Imo State Police Command has initiated an orderly trial for its officers caught on video accepting bribes from commercial bus drivers in the state.
A video featuring one of the patrol officers taking money from a bus driver circulated on social media over the weekend.
In response, ASP Henry Okoye, the command’s spokesperson, announced that the state commissioner of police had ordered the arrest of the officers involved.
In a statement released today, October 17, Okoye confirmed that the command has begun an orderly room trial for the officers featured in the viral video extorting money in Owerri.
The officers identified are Inspector Ibrahim Nainna, Inspector Unaka Maxvirgin, Inspector Miller Ibinitta, and Sergeant Antony Alozie.
Okoye noted that the outcomes of the proceedings will be communicated in due course.
