The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has clarified its decision to support President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election. During an appearance on Channels Television’s Morning Show, National Chairman Sylvester Ezeokenwa explained that the choice was based on existing party guidelines and personal belief in the administration’s direction.
Ezeokenwa highlighted that the strategy of endorsing a presidential candidate is not new, citing a similar decision made in 2011 to back Goodluck Jonathan. According to the chairman, this historical policy remains central to the party’s operations. Beyond internal regulations, Ezeokenwa noted that the leadership is convinced that President Tinubu is moving the nation forward. He argued that the current reforms initiated by the administration align with the progressive goals of APGA, justifying the decision to back the president for another term.
APGA officially announced this endorsement of President Tinubu on Wednesday.
