Joseph Yobo, the former captain of the Super Eagles, has suggested he might enter the political arena in the future. He made these remarks while attending various project inaugurations throughout Abuja, where he praised the efforts of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for improving local governance.
When asked if his frequent attendance at official government functions indicated a desire to run for office, Yobo remained non-committal but open to the possibility. He noted that the future remains uncertain and rests with divine providence, stating that one should never rule out any potential path.
Drawing on his extensive experience as a professional athlete and team leader, Yobo argued that he is no stranger to taking on responsibilities. He emphasized that his time spent representing Nigeria internationally and leading the national squad prepared him for various challenges. He expressed a deep interest in how government policies directly influence the lives of citizens, which motivates his curiosity about the sector.
Currently, the ex-defender maintains that his recent appearances are solely to support the development projects led by Wike. He expressed his admiration for the urban renewal initiatives happening in the capital, noting that he is pleased to witness these structural changes firsthand.
