Chiwendu Ihezuo Reveals Super Falcons Goals for WAFCON 2026

Chiwendu Ihezuo shares the Super Falcons’ ambitions to defend their title and secure a 2027 World Cup spot at the 2026 WAFCON in Morocco.

According to reports from DAILY POST, Chiwendu Ihezuo has defined the Super Falcons’ primary aims for the forthcoming 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. The team, led by Justine Madugu, intends to secure an 11th championship title in Morocco, which is hosting the tournament for the third time in a row.

This event serves as a qualifier, with the four teams reaching the semi-finals securing entry into the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil. Ihezuo emphasized that the squad is prepared to defend their crown while battling for that global tournament spot.

Acknowledging the increased difficulty of the competition, Ihezuo noted that the added pressure of a World Cup qualification slot makes the upcoming games much more intense. She cautioned against complacency, stating that the team remains focused on their opening match against Malawi on August 28th at the Al Madina Stadium in Rabat. Before the tournament begins on August 26, the Super Falcons will play a friendly match against Ghana this Saturday in Casablanca.
