Kebbi APC Welcomes Over 10,000 New Members From Rival Parties

Over 10,000 former PDP and ADC members, including numerous local government chairmen, have defected to the APC in Kebbi State, citing Governor Nasir Idris’s leadership as their primary motivation.

The All Progressives Congress in Kebbi State officially welcomed over 10,000 new members from the African Democratic Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party this Tuesday. Governor Nasir Idris greeted the new arrivals at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi, promising that they would be fully integrated and treated as equals within the party.

During the event, Governor Idris emphasized that the APC remains inclusive and encouraged the newcomers to collaborate with current leadership to bolster the party for upcoming electoral cycles. He also instructed existing party officials to welcome the defectors and facilitate their active involvement in all political operations.

Bello Doya, speaking for the supporters of ADC leader Senator Garba Musa Maidoki, stated that their switch was driven by the transparent and community-focused initiatives led by the current administration. Furthermore, the head of the PDP Local Government Chairmen’s Association in Kebbi moved to the APC with several colleagues.

Bello Manti, the Bunza Local Government Area Chairman, represented the PDP defectors and cited the governor’s effective performance and inclusive governance as the primary reasons for their decision. Other notable defectors included PDP chairmen from Dandi, Koko/Besse, Arewa, Zuru, Ngaski, Yauri, Shanga, Danko-Wasagu, Sakaba, and Aliero local government areas.
