Kaduna ADC Legacy Faction Urges Unity Following Court Ruling

The Legacy faction of the Kaduna State ADC has called for unity and compliance following a Court of Appeal ruling that upheld the legitimacy of its recognized leadership structures.

The Legacy faction of the African Democratic Congress in Kaduna State is calling for party-wide adherence to a recent Court of Appeal decision regarding the organization’s leadership. State Chairman Ahmed Tijjani Mustapha spoke to reporters in Kaduna, noting that the appellate court reinforced a previous Federal High Court ruling that validates the party’s leadership structures established after the April congresses.

Mustapha explained that the court issued a majority judgment preventing the Independent National Electoral Commission from acknowledging congress outcomes or leadership groups connected to committees formed during the contested April period. According to the faction, this confirms that the elected State Executive Committees are the only bodies authorized to handle party activities under the existing constitution.

The Legacy leadership is now encouraging rival factions to align with the judicial outcome to avoid legal friction. Mustapha stated that his group is focused on internal reconciliation and reinforcing the party’s foundation for the upcoming 2027 general elections. He also confirmed their support for the national leadership led by Senator David Mark, emphasizing that a cohesive ADC remains a viable political option for voters in the future.
