Arsenal have reached an agreement on a transfer fee with Besiktas for the sale of Belgian attacker Leandro Trossard. The 31-year-old, who has earned 57 international caps, has received clearance to fly to Istanbul for a medical examination. Trossard originally moved to the Emirates Stadium from Brighton in January 2023 for a fee of £21 million plus performance-based incentives, and he remains under contract with the Gunners until 2027.
Besiktas officially confirmed that discussions regarding a permanent transfer are underway. During his tenure at Arsenal, Trossard recorded 36 goals and 34 assists across 174 matches. He played a significant role in Mikel Arteta’s squad, contributing to their Premier League title win last season and starting in the Champions League final against Paris St-Germain. Additionally, Trossard started all six of Belgium’s matches during this summer’s World Cup, netting two goals as his team reached the quarter-finals.
