Oladimeji Fabiyi, Deputy National Financial Secretary for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has called on the judiciary to resist any pressure to assist President Bola Tinubu in dismantling the nation’s democratic framework. Fabiyi shared these concerns during a recent interview on Trust TV this Tuesday.
His comments follow a recent Court of Appeal decision that prevents the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from acknowledging ADC state congresses. Fabiyi expressed deep frustration, arguing that the judiciary has reached a low point and warning that attempts to establish a one-party state will fail. He emphasized that the party remains active despite current legal challenges and plans to continue its operations.
Furthermore, Fabiyi suggested that the ADC is not the only target of these political maneuvers. He claimed that the Labour Party, the Peoples Democratic Party, and other groups are facing similar pressures, framing the situation as a broader concern for all Nigerians.
